Many of us learned to survive by turning down the volume on our feelings. It was safer to stay numb, to keep moving, to stay busy. But healing asks the opposite. It asks us to listen again.
When we start to feel — really feel — the body comes online. Sensation is the language of the nervous system. Warmth, tingling, tightness, even tears… these are the body’s ways of saying, “I’m here.”
Light helps us reconnect to this language. When colour enters the skin or the eyes, it doesn’t only create sight — it activates the deeper circuitry of feeling. Blue can calm an overactive system; red can bring us back into our core; green opens the heart’s breath.
This is what Light Literacy™ is about: learning to translate the sensations that arise when light meets awareness.
If you’re ready, take a few minutes today to close your eyes, breathe, and let light filter through your eyelids. Notice where the first flicker of sensation appears. That’s your body remembering how to feel again.
